Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.

The Bearded Boys Never Let Me Down

Dr. Strange Beard - Penny Reid

I loved it, not LOVED IT but loved it. Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors, her quirky humor and sense of romance fit my twisted heart just right. Why didn't I love it ? The Female MC, Simone. I didn't like her, she was too distant, lied and was too cold for my Roscoe. Yup, my Roscoe ! Roscoe is a hunk with manners, treats women with respect and is a veterinarian. There is a scene with him rolling around on the floor with puppies ! That is my porn ! Excuse me I need to fan myself at the memory. Wooowee it's hot in here.

I'm not going to tell you about the story, you need to read this series and know these boys stories to get the quirky things. These bearded boys are hotter than Houston in August. Have a nice cold drink handy when you pick these up

My Memories Built a Mega Monster

The Shining - Stephen King

Well that was not as scary as I imagined it was when I read it way back in the 70's. This book was my #1 nightmare I never dared re-read it till now. Sure I was a pre-teen and hadn't been jaded by life and media, but it seemed so scary in my twisted memory. It was different from the movie. The first half of the book was slow, filled with family drama. The second half was much better, bad things were happening and I cold feel some fear. So first half 2 stars, second half 4.

A Classic Ghost Story

The Haunting - Joan Lowery Nixon

Not horrible, written for YA ? The MC was 15. I figured the mystery out after the first 30 pages, the parents were unreal. The side characters dropped in from nowhere and dropped out almost the same way. There were a lot of things brought up that were never ironed out. It took me 5 days to finish a 180 page book ! Hey, it was free, and I was looking for something I knew nothing about, and I got it. Meh

A Ghostly Demise: A Ghostly Southern Mystery (Ghostly Southern Mysteries) - Tonya Kappes

I am so disappointed, I was looking forward to reading this, I love cozy Southern paranormal reads.
Meh. It got better towards the last 20%. Something really irked me, and it kept repeating, the author tried excessively hard to push the "Southern" from sayings to food and it was so over the top. it wasn't a little here and there is was a major point the focused on. I am a Southerner and I suffered from excessive eye rolling. The story was okay, the characters were silly to ridiculous and the ending was a relief.
